Chidera Ejuke joins Sevilla on free transfer after CSKA Moscow exit

Chidera Ejuke, a Super Eagles winger, has joined Sevilla FC after his contract with Russia’s CSKA Moscow expired. 

The Spanish club announced the deal in a statement on its website on Monday.

The 26-year-old joined the Nervionenses as a free agent and penned a three-year contract.

“Sevilla FC has reached an agreement with the Nigerian footballer Chidera Ejuke to become a new player for the Nervionense team, joining García Pimienta’s squad as a free agent and signing for three seasons, until June 2027,” the statement reads.

“Chidera Ejuke (January 2, 1998) was born in Zaria, Nigeria, is 176 centimetres tall, is right-footed and acts mainly as a left winger, and can also do so on the right side and in the last offensive section.

“Ejuke began his European career in Norway, at Valerenga, for whom he signed in 2017 at the age of 19 and where he remained for two seasons, playing 59 games. With 15 goals and six assists in the Nordic country, he was signed by the Dutch Heerenveen and where, in the campaign of his arrival, 19/20, he scored ten goals and six assists in 29 games, drawing the attention of CSKA Moscow, with whom he signs until 2024.”

The winger debuted for the Super Eagles in 2020 and has made eight appearances for the national team.
