The Kano government says the state has recorded 329 deaths from cholera since March.
According to NAN, Sulaiman Iliyasu, the state’s disease surveillance and notification officer (DSNO), disclosed this on Wednesday, at a media briefing in Kano.
He said Kano is the second most affected state in the country, with at least 11,475 cases recorded across the 44 LGAs.
The officer said 11,115 patients have fully recovered, while 31 cases were still receiving treatment as of September 21.

Iliyasu said Sumaila LGA has the highest number of cases with more than 2,000 infections, followed by Bichi and Gwarzo, while Kunchi and Dala are the least affected LGAs in the state.
“Kano state has a population of more than 15.3 million. The attack rate is 0.074 percent,” he said.
Iliyasu also said the state government has distributed drugs, established cholera treatment centres, intensified social mobilisation, community awareness and chlorination of water points to combat the outbreak.
