Popular R&B singer Chris Brown could face another jail term for attempting to perform at some concerts in Montreal and Toronto in Canada.
The singer, who has been on probation since 2009 when he pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting Rihanna, his girlfriend at that time, was jailed for 10 weeks in 2014 for violating the terms of his probation.
In January, his probation was revoked by a Los Angeles judge for leaving without court permission and his recent attempt to visit Canada leaves him at a risk of cooling off behind the bars again.
Live Nation, promoter of the concert, announced the cancellation of the programme, where tickets were said to have been fully booked.

“Due to immigration issues, Brown’s show in Montreal on Tuesday with R&B artist Trey Songz and rapper Tyga and their Wednesday performance in Toronto have been cancelled,” read a statement from Live Nation.
Canadian law dictates a person could be “criminally inadmissible” if they have been convicted of a crime involving assault.
But Brown has assured his fans that he would return to the country soon.

“The good people of the Canadian government wouldn’t allow me entry,” he tweeted.
“I’ll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!”
This is not the first time that Brown’s concert would be cancelled in Canada.
In 2013, a four-concert festival featuring Brown, was cancelled due to the singer’s health concerns.
