The Lagos state chapter of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, (CIBN) will flag off its ultra-modern edifice on Thursday.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Kola Abdul, chairman of the Lagos Bankers House, said the event, scheduled to hold at the Yaba area of the state, will have in attendance past presidents of CIBN, past chairmen, notable bankers, professional colleagues and some stakeholders.
Abdul said the decision to construct an ultra-modern building for the institute is to give strong visibility and outlook to bankers in Nigeria.
He said the seven-storey architectural masterpiece, with an open terrace at the pent floor level, would stand on 740 square meters of land.

According to him, the design proposal has an ample parking lot with a generous 18 meters setback to accommodate future expansion of the road in view of our closeness to the much-celebrated Mobolaji Johnson Railway Station, Alagomeji.
Abdul said the first floor will contain an ATM gallery.
“The second floor would be used as Computer Based Test (CBT) center. The third and fourth floors would be on long leases to interested parties while the branch would use the fifth floor as the state secretariat and lecture centers for student members. The open terrace at the pent floor will be available for cocktail and light entertainment events,” he said.

“We have assembled a professionally sound and experienced project team headed by Architect Bode Jegede, a chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and principal partner of Archiworth Associates to achieve this end. The structural engineers, our seasoned mechanical and electrical engineers along with the quantity surveyors have done due diligence in their provision of value-engineered consultancy services.”
Abdul added that existing structures on the land have been removed with statutory approvals obtained from LASPPPA and LASBCA.
“Our national secretariat and major stakeholders have strongly encouraged us this far and we are confident that the project would be completed in a reasonable time with a good value for money,” he added.
