City are Premier League champions!

Manchester City have beat West Ham United 2-0 to at the Etihad Stadium to clinch their second Premier League title in three seasons and send Liverpool to second place.

Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at Anfield to finish two points behind City, and will now settle for only a Champions League spot.

City needed just a draw to win the trophy but finished two points clear of Liverpool, and Samir Nasri scored the leading goal in the 39th minute, while the second goal came through Vincent Kompany, City’s captain, exactly four minutes in the second.

The atmosphere at Anfield was muted, as an own goal from Martin Skrtel put Newcastle ahead in the first half, but two quickfire goals from Daniel Agger and Daniel Sturridge ensured they ended with victory against opponents.
