CJN to swear in 12 FCT high court judges on Wednesday

Olukayode Ariwoola, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), will swear in 12 judges of the federal capital territory (FCT) high court on Wednesday.

In a statement on Sunday, Festus Akande, director of press and information of the supreme court, said the event will hold at the main courtroom of the apex court.

“The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will swear-in the newly appointed 12 Judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday, 10th July, 2024 at the Main Courtroom of the Supreme Court of Nigeria at 10:00am,” Akande said.

Among the judges are the daughters-in-law of the CJN and Nyesom Wike, minister of the FCT.

The new judges are; Buetnaan Mandy Bassi (Plateau), Ademuyiwa Olakunle Oyeyipo (Kwara), Bamodu Odunayo Olutomi (Lagos), Iheabunike Anumaenwe Godwin (Imo), Odo Celestine Obinna (Enugu), and Hauwa Lawal Gummi (Zamfara).

Others are; Sarah Benjamin Inesu Avoh (Bayelsa), Maryam Iye Yusuf (Kogi), Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria (Oyo), Lesley Nkesi Belema Wike (Rivers), Ibrahim Tanko Munirat (Bauchi) and Abdulrahman Usman (Taraba).
