The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) says the world must phase out global coal production and use by 2040, and cut oil and gas production and use by three-quarters between 2020 and 2050, to achieve a safe and liveable planet.

The International Trade Center (ITC) says about 250,000 additional climate-related deaths could be prevented annually from 2030 to 2050 by improving health systems.
