Chief of army staff, Lieutenant-General Kenneth Minimah, wants Nigerians to exercise patience and cooperate with the army as it tackles the country’s security challenges.
Speaking at the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Bonny Camp, Victoria Island during his maiden tour of army formations, Minimah said the military is winning the war against terror, even though it is not a battle that can be ended in one day.
“We should work together as a nation to combat terrorism,” he said.
Advising his men to be of good conduct and respect the laws of the land, Minimah said he decided to start his visit from Lagos because of the peculiar nature of the city.

“This first leg of my tour is starting from Lagos based on its peculiarity,” he said.
“I advise you to copy the good, do away with the bad and chase out the criminals, because we have an image to protect. I will implore you to respect the laws of the state you find yourselves and that of the country. Obedience is an important attribute of a disciplined force.”
Minimah warned them against dereliction of duty, saying their loyalty must be to the country at all times.
