Nigeria’s table tennis teams on Friday continued their impressive run in the team event, with both the men’s and women’s team recording victories over their opponents.
The women team defeated Barbados 3-0 while the men recorded the same scoreline in a win over Kiribati.
In the women’s double, Olufunke Oshonaike and Ganiat Ogundele defeated Anthonette Riley and Sherrice Felix in three straight sets 11-6, 11-7, 11-7.
In the women’s single event, Ganiat Ogundele beat Krystle Harvey also in straight sets 11-5, 11-5, 11-7; while namesake, Rashidat Ogundele, defeated Sherrice Felix 11-9, 11-6, 11-7.

In the men’s double, Jide Ogidiolu and Bode Abiodun beat Teitua Beia and Choy Freddy 11-3, 11-1, 11-3 in three straight sets.
In the singles, Ojo Onaolapo beat Katirakei Tetabo 11-3, 11-2, 11-2. Also, Bode Abiodun beat Choy Freddy 11-3, 11-1, 11-1.
Action continues on Saturday in both men and women events.
