Costa may miss clash with Man City over ‘stamp’

Chelsea striker Diego Costa could be banned for three matches if found guilty of stamping on Liverpool’s Emre Can in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge.

The Football Association has charged him for violent conduct following the 12th minute incident in the match won by Chelsea 1-0.

He faces a three-match ban and could miss Saturday’s league match at home to Manchester City.

He has until 18:00 GMT on Thursday to respond to the charge and he could request a personal hearing to defend himself.
