The Benin traditional council on Wednesday said Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’Uselu, crown prince of the kingdom, has completed all rites preparatory to his coronation as Oba of Benin.

Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin, who made the announcement at a press briefing in Benin, said the palace had inaugurated a three- man committee to handle all aspects of the coronation ceremonies.

He said: “the Crown Prince Eheneden has successfully performed all the required traditional rites, including Emwinekhua (the Royal funeral rites).

“He has completed all the requirements for his ascension to the throne of the Oba of Benin.”
