Suspected kidnappers have abducted a couple along the Osogbo-Iragbiji road in Osun state.
The couple were reportedly abducted on Saturday as they were returning from a church programme at about 4am.
The couple, who were riding on a motorcycle, reportedly ran into an ambush mounted by the kidnappers.
Yemisi Opalola, the Osun police spokesperson, confirmed the incident on Monday.

She assured that the police are on the trail of the suspects.
Local hunters and police operatives are said to be combing the forest in the area in search of the couple and the abductors.
“Operatives are combing the bush in the area and we assure the public that the victims will be rescued and the criminals will not escape justice,” she said.
