He pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.

The EFCC said the offences contravened sections 278, 285 and 363 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2015.

After the trial commenced, Aladenola changed his plea of not guilty to guilty in a plea bargain agreement.

Tinuke Daramola, the EFCC counsel, told the court that the defendant had refunded N12 million to the complainant.

Daramola said the convict converted the property of the complainant — Olabisi Akinmola — to his personal use.

The judge adopted the plea bargain agreement and sentenced the defendant without an option of fine.

The judge further ordered the convict to refund an outstanding balance of N6 million to the complainant.
