The Lagos state high court has ordered the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) not to hold a fresh election in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Omojowolo O, chairman of the association in Lagos; Kenneth Uwajeh publicity secretary; and Alabi BAM, secretary.
New officials of the association were elected on Wednesday, but a group not satisfied with the exercise conducted a parallel election.
The national executive council of the NMA ordered an annulment of Wednesday’s exercise, fixing a fresh one for Saturday.

“It is also on record that a dissident group of the association held a parallel AGM/elections on the same day at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba.
