Court remands 71-year-old man for ‘defiling minor’ in Lagos

A chief magistrates’ court in the Badagry area of Lagos has ordered the remand of Dumashi Sabo for defiling a 12-year-old girl.

NAN reports that Sabo, 71, pleaded guilty to the offence on Monday.

Patrick Adekomaiya, the presiding judge, ordered the defendant’s remand following his guilty plea.

Ayodele Adeosun, the prosecution counsel, told the court that the offence occurred in Badagry on July 1 at about 2pm. 

He added that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 261 and 263 of the criminal law of Lagos state 2015.

The judge adjourned the case to July 15 for the presentation of facts and sentencing.
