A chief magistrates’ court has ordered that Jonah Luka, a 45-year-old man, be remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl in Kafanchan, Kaduna state.

Luka was charged with rape by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Samson Kwasu, the judge, did not take the plea of the accused for a lack of jurisdiction.

Kwasu directed the prosecutor to forward duplicate copies of the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

Marcus Audu, NSCDC prosecutor, told the court that the case was reported to the corps by Nazareth Dauda, the girl’s father, in Kafanchan on January 30.

According to NAN, Audu stated that Luka lured the complainant’s daughter into his room at Unguwar Rimi Bajju and defiled her.
