Court remands 25-year-old man for ‘robbery, iPhone theft’ in Ogun

A magistrate court in Ota, Ogun state, has remanded one Herick Abdullahi at a correctional facility.

The 25-year-old was slammed with a three-count charge of armed robbery, conspiracy, and burglary.

E.O. Adaraloye, the prosecutor, told the court that the offences were committed on October 19, 2024 in Onimalu Ilogbo community.

Adaraloye said Abdullahi, alongside accomplices, burgled the home of Oni Samson, the complainant, and stole items worth N1.3 million — including an iPhone 13.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 390(9), 401 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006, the prosecutor noted.

O.O. Fadairo, the magistrate, who did not accept the defendant’s plea, ordered that the case file be sent to the director of public prosecutions for legal advice and adjourned the case to March 10.
