A magistrate court in Ebonyi has ordered the remand of Anthony Odeh and Amadi Chibuike, at the Nigeria Correctional Centre in Abakaliki, the state capital, over alleged conspiracy and murder.

Odeh, a 40-year-old, and Chibuike, a 34-year-old, allegedly killed a police corporal.

The offences were purportedly committed on February 10 at Ohaukwu LGA in Ebonyi.

Okon said that the offences were punishable under section 319 (1) of the criminal code cap.33, vol. 1 laws of the state.

MC. O Okpere, counsel to the defendants, prayed the court to grant them bail. The plea of the defendants was not taken.

The prosecutor opposed the bail application and urged the court to remand the defendants in a correctional centre.
