A high court of the federal capital territory (FCT) has ordered Jackson Ude, chief executive officer of Pointblank News, not to publish “defamatory materials” against Bulet International Limited and Abubakar Ismaila Isa Funtua, a businessman.
The order was given by Yusuf Halilu, a judge of the high court, following an ex parte motion filed by Bulet International and Isa.
After listening to counsel of Michael Andoakaa, former attorney-general of the federation who is counsel of the plaintiffs, the court granted the application to serve the defendants the writ of summons and all other court processes by substituted service.
“An interim order of the honourable court restraining the defendants from further publication of any defamatory statement(s) against the claimants pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice in this suit is hereby granted,” the judge held.
