A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state has commended Biodun Olujimi, the senator representing south district, for her donation of food items to the leadership of the APC.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the group, under the aegis of the APC-Liberation Group (APC-LG), praised Olujimi for the gesture, noting that it would complement the efforts of the government, considering the restriction of movement in the state.
A statement co-signed by Akin Ibikunle and Emmanuel Akindahunsi, its state chairman and secretary, respectively, said the group comprises members who are elder statesmen, whose role “is to maintain sanity not only in the APC but across the state”.
The group said Olujimi has by that singular gesture further rebuilt the confidence of Ekiti people in the ‘Ekiti First’ project, and also discouraged politics of bitterness.

“It has become imperative to issue this appreciation statement particularly, as it affects the generality of Ekiti people. We are an outstanding group of APC stakeholders and our position herein, notwithstanding, does not have anything to do with the defeated PDP as a political party in Ekiti, but as concerned leaders who deem the gesture of Senator Olujimi worthy of commendation,” it read.
