The consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos and the Overseas Chinese Association in Nigeria have donated $91,000 and protective medical supplies to Lagos as a support to the state’s fight against COVID-19.

The donation was received on Friday by Frederic Oladeinde, the commissioner for transportation.

Speaking at the presentation, Zhou Jun, president of the Association of Chinese Women in Nigeria, said the Chinese government would continue to support Nigeria in its efforts to contain the spread of the disease.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global challenge. The Chinese government and people will continue to stand and work with Nigeria and Lagos state in the fight against the disease,” she said.
