COVID-19: Jack Ma donates more medical supplies to Africa

Jack Ma, Chinese billionaire, has announced the donation of more medical supplies to Africa to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He made the announcement via a tweet on Monday.

“Our 3rd donation to Africa will immediately be made to @_africanunion and @AfricaCDC,” he wrote.

“This includes 4.6 million masks, 500,000 swabs & test kits, 300 ventilators, 200,000 clothing sets, 200,000 face shields, 2000 thermal guns, 100 body temp. scanners and 500,000 pairs of gloves. #OneWorldOneFight.”

Ma made his first donation to Africa on March 16.

That shipment contained 20,000 test kits, 100,000 masks and 1,000 protective suits and face shields for medical use.

Ma announced his second donation to Africa on April 6. The supplies included 500 ventilators, 200,000 suits and face shields, 2,000 thermometers, one million swabs and extraction kits and 500,000 gloves.

Jack Ma is the 17th richest man in the world, and has also made donations to the US and Europe in the fight against the pandemic.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, Nigeria has 627 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 21 deaths have been recorded and 170 persons have recovered.

  1. The Chinese are known to have supplied medical equipments and materials infected with Corona virus to other countries. Most of the equipments they sent to the UK And US were discovered to have malfunctioned.

    Certainly, whatever they are donating to Africa will be of no good.

    African leaders should be careful and beware of the Chines. Be weary of anything from the Chinese.
