The Kaduna state government has discharged 35 almajiri children from isolation centre after they tested negative the coronavirus.
Nasir el-Rufai, the governor, disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Thursday evening.
“35 more patients, all of them almajirai, have been discharged having tested negative,” he wrote.
“The state now has 47 active Covid-19 cases, having discharged 63 persons and recorded four fatalities.”

Nigeria recorded 193 new cases of the virus on Thursday, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 5,162. A total of 1,180 persons have recovered while 167 deaths have been recorded.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has apologised to the Kaduna state government for erroneously reporting the number of confirmed cases in the state on Wednesday.
NCDC said the two cases reported, “were repeat tests and therefore, Kaduna had a total of 114 confirmed cases.”
