The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the discharge of 508 COVID-19 patients across the country.
The agency confirmed the new recoveries in its update for September 25, 2020.
According to NCDC, the number of persons confirmed to have been discharged on Friday “includes 364 recovered patients in Katsina state who were managed in the community”.
A total of 49,606 patients have now recovered from COVID-19 across the country.

However, the agency confirmed 213 new positive samples in 16 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
The Friday figure of new positive cases is the highest in the past week — before September 25, the last time Nigeria recorded more than 200 infections in a single count was on September 18.
Lagos and Plateau topped the list of states with 51 new positive samples each, followed by FCT with 29.

Also, one new death was recorded on Friday, increasing the fatality toll to 1,103.
The NCDC, however, corrected its data for September 23, noting that it “erroneously reported 1 death in Bayelsa State”.
Meanwhile, the country’s case count has now exceeded 58,000 cases.
Out of a total of 58,062 confirmed COVID-19 infections, 7,353 are active cases.
