Nigeria’s daily COVID-19 cases continued on a low count on Friday as the country’s disease control agency recorded new 47 infections.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says the fresh cases were logged in eight states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
According to the agency’s update for January 11, 2021, Lagos — the epicentre of the pandemic — reported 22 cases, followed by the FCT with five infections.

The NCDC data showed that 24 persons were discharged after they recovered from the infection.
One person was said to have died from the infection, raising the total fatalities to 3,140.

Since Nigeria recorded its index case in February 2020, a total of 253,970 infections have been confirmed with 230,317 recoveries.
