The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 82 new coronavirus infections in 13 states on Saturday.
The agency disclosed the new cases in its update for April 10, 2021.
Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in the country, recorded the highest number of new infections with 26 positive samples.
Other states that recorded new infections include Akwa Ibom (16), Rivers (10), Ebonyi (9), Abia (6), Kano (6), Osun (3), Bauchi (2), Delta (2), Edo (1), Jigawa (1), Kaduna (1), and Ogun (1).

On the daily record of deaths, one person was reported to have died of COVID-19 complications on Saturday.
The current coronavirus fatality toll in Nigeria is 2,060 — Lagos has the highest number of casualties with 439 deaths, followed by Edo with 185 and FCT with 164.
However, 25 patients were discharged on Saturday after recovering from the infection.

A total of 163,736 COVID-19 cases have now been confirmed of which 154,098 persons have recovered from the virus, while 7,578 are currently active cases.
