Nigeria’s daily count of coronavirus infections recorded a drop on Saturday — with 51 new cases confirmed in five states.
Saturday’s figure is a 60.4 percent decrease over the past 24 hours — 129 new cases were confirmed on Friday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) published the new cases in its update for November 13, 2021.
Katsina recorded the most cases on Saturday with 34 new positive samples, followed by Lagos with 11 and Kano with three.

Other states with new infections are Cross River (2) and Bauchi (1).
The agency, however, said the cases reported include a backlog of five infections from Lagos and two positive samples from Cross River.
With eight persons confirmed to have recovered from the infection on Saturday, a total of 205,491 people have now been discharged across the country.

The NCDC said 11 persons died of coronavirus complications in Edo state — the current fatality toll has now increased to 2,960.
Overall, Lagos accounts for the highest figure of coronavirus deaths in Nigeria with 753 deaths, followed by Edo and the federal capital territory (FCT), with 272 and 223 deaths, respectively.
A total of 213,127 persons have now contracted COVID-19 across Nigeria, but the number of active cases currently stands at 4,676.
