The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says three people died of COVID-19 complications on Saturday, while 112 new positive infections were recorded across 13 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
This is contained in its update for March 20, 2021.
With the new deaths recorded on Saturday, a total of 2,030 persons have now died of coronavirus across Nigeria.
A breakdown showed that Lagos has the highest figure with 426 fatalities, followed by Edo with 192, and FCT with 156; Kogi has the lowest number with two deaths.

For positive samples, Lagos topped the list on Saturday with 35 new infections, FCT came next on the list with 22, followed by Ondo with 17.
Other states that recorded fresh COVID-19 infections include Kaduna (9), Ebonyi (9), Bauchi (6), Kebbi (4), Delta (2), Osun (2), Jigawa (2), Borno (1), Edo (1), Kano (1) and Nasarawa (1).
According to NCDC, 194 persons were discharged on Saturday after recovering from the virus, which includes “70 community recoveries in Lagos state managed in line with guidelines.

Out of a total of 161,651 positive infections confirmed across the country, 11,846 are still active cases.
