Shehu Sani, senator representing Kaduna central senatorial district, has been granted bail by the police in a case of alleged murder and criminal conspiracy.
The senator had been invited by Kaduna commissioner of police for questioning after a suspect arrested in a murder case allegedly implicated him.
On January 31, 2018, Isa Garba, the suspect reportedly arrested by the military, was said to have narrated how he participated in the killing of one Lawal Madugu.
But he later told TheCable of how some soldiers forced him to implicate the senator as the man who hired people to kill Maiduna.

He wrote: “The police invited me to appear today by 10:45am. I honored the invitation … with clear conscience. I wrote my statements. I was granted ‘self bail’. I have left.”
