The Zamfara State Rescue Movement (ZSRM), a civil society organisation (CSO), says the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage in the state is not a deceit.
A statement on Sunday by Lawal Idris, ZSRM coordinator, said the remarks by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the implementation of the minimum wage is to curry support for Dauda Lawal, governor of the state, is a deliberate distortion of facts.
The group noted that the governor has restored the state’s economy and its dignity and is committed to transforming Zamfara further.
“To call the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage a deceit is a deliberate distortion of Governor Lawal’s vision for the state, which he inherited in a deplorable condition,” the statement reads.

“Governor Lawal has done what no other leader in the state has done before. His leadership has not only restored the state’s economy but also its dignity.”
The CSO said the governor is the first to implement the N70,000 national minimum wage after the previous administration failed to do so.
ZSRM expressed confidence in the Lawal-led administration, noting that “there is no vacancy in the government house in 2027”.

“As far as the good people of Zamfara are concerned, there is no vacancy in the Government House in Gusau in 2027,” Idris said.
