On Day 9, Team Nigeria claimed their 30th medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.
Iyiazi Eucharia Njideka and Ugochi Constance Alam won gold and bronze medals respectively in the women’s F55-57 shot.
Genesis Miesinnei Mercy also won gold in women’s wrestling while Favour Ofili took silver in the women’s 200 meters final.
Nigeria has 9 gold, 8 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

The Nigeria contingent will be heading into their final day of activities with opportunities to add more medals to their tally.
Tobi Amusan is the athlete to beat in the women’s 100-meter hurdles final while Ese Brume will be defending the Commonwealth Games title she won in 2014.
Nigeria will also be represented in the finals of all the relays while Elizabeth Oshoba goes for Nigeria’s last gold in boxing.
