Ibrahim Dankwambo, governor of Gombe state, is currently at the residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The visit comes 24 hours after that of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Dankwambo is seeking the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It is not clear if that made him consult with Obasanjo.
On Monday, the governor met with members of PDP board of trustees in Abuja to “formally inform” them of his aspiration to be president.

The governor said he has been part of moves to bring reforms in the country and he would to see them implemented.
“Today, I am coming to introduce myself to the presidential position of this our great country. I want to reflect carefully and I want you as custodian of the great party and assume that all of us (aspirants) are telling us the same thing and we should not be repeating the same thing, i think what is very important is what we will do differently if given the opportunity,” he said.
“For some of us we would have just sit at the back and watch what is going on in this great country, but some of us are products of this great party. Over this period of 16, 19 years of this party, this party has trained, directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, leaders to take over the leadership mantle of this country.

“We all know what is going on in this great country of ours today, we have seen the economic reforms, which ever kind of document you will bring is a document already there, there is nothing you can bring new but you will only do when these documents are there.
“All sort of reforms, i was in the kitchen cabinet. For some of us not to see these reforms not working today, we will not be fair to this country and if we don’t make sacrifice to go back and ensure that we fine tune them to making them useful for this country. God will not forgive us.”
