Sunday Dare, the minister of sports and youth development, has congratulated Bola Tinubu on the president-elect’s 71st birthday.
In a statement on Wednesday, Dare eulogised Tinubu as a “pathfinder who worked hard for others to succeed.”
“Tinubu, you chose the road less travelled, see where it has led you,” the minister said.
He described Tinubu as “Nigeria’s foremost democrat and itinerant mobiliser and organiser.”

The minister also referred to the former Lagos governor as the “central personality in Nigeria’s democratic space”.
“At 71 years old, you remain the central personality in Nigeria’s democratic space, no wonder you won a keenly contested and one of the freest and fairest elections in Nigerian history,” he said.
“You stand today as Nigeria’s President-elect not by chance or happenstance, but by a divine path charted before now and your unquestionable commitment, investment and support in Nigeria’s democratic struggle and the birth of democracy.”

Dare said Tinubu is the “kind of leader” Nigeria needs now to continue to steer the country in the paths of growth, progress, unity, and prosperity.
“My prayer is that God gives you many more years in good health and the wisdom, knowledge and understanding you need to move Nigeria forward,” he said.
