Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development, says the 20th national sports festival will kick off on April 2, with 8000 athletes vying for medals.
Speaking on Saturday during a tour of the facilities in Edo, Dare said the opening ceremony will be held on April 6.
Edo state won the hosting rights of the festival in 2018.
Dare said there will be a collaboration between the sports ministry, the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to provide test kits and vaccination for athletes.
