Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development, on Friday, pledged to provide necessary support for organisers of Nigerian Sports Award (NSA) with a view to motivating the country’s athletes.

Dare, who spoke in his office in Abuja where the NSA panel members paid him a courtesy visit, said the ministry’s support for the award, which he described as laudable, would contribute to the athletes’ motivation to excel in their various fields.

“The Ministry can collaborate and key into the activities of Nigerian Sports Award by providing financial support for the organisation and this would go a long way to show our commitment,” he said.

In the meantime, the nominations of sports men and women for the various categories of awards for the 2019 edition will close on Sunday.
