Abdulmalik Dauda, acting director-general of the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja, is dead.
Mohammed Aliyu, protocol officer to the director-general, confirmed the news to NAN, saying he died in an accident which occurred along Abuja-Kaduna expressway on Friday.
He said the deceased was returning from an official assignment.
Dauda took over from Onyeka Onwenu on February 16, 2016, following the removal of 26 heads of government agencies and parastatals.

Born on August 27, 1959, in Niger state, Dauda was survived by two wives and five children.
Aliyu added that the remains of Dauda had been buried according to Islamic rites in his home town in Niger.
Dauda is the second known government official to have died on that road in recent times.

Last month, James Ocholi, former minister of state for labour, died alongside his wife and son, around the Rijana axis of the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
The rear tyre of their car burst, forcing the vehicle to somersault several times into the bush.
