Davido, Olamide and Patoranking took top honours at the 9th edition of the Headies Awards ceremony, which held on Sunday night at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites.
In what can largely be regarded as a memorable event, due in no small part to the emceeing skills of Toke Makinwa and Basketmouth, the three musical artistes dominated the awards, taking home two statuettes each.
Davido won in the Song of the Year and Artiste of the Year categories, while Olamide won Best Rap Album and Album of the Year honours for the album ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’.
Patoranking, who was the most successful for the night, won in the Best Reggae/Dancehall category (Girlie O), shared the limelight with Wizzy Pro in the Best Collaboration Category (Emergency) and was also crowned the Next Rated, for which he received a brand new Hyundai car.
