David Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian musician and entertainer popularly known as Davido (omo baba olowo), has signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment at its headquarters in New York City.
According to a statement from Davido obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, the deal will help him to create, distribute and market his music at world class level.
He said the deal was executed by Efe Ogbeni, Nigerian-born American music executive, who is also a partner with Nicki Minaj on Parker Ighile‘s project.
Also, it was facilitated by Davido’s manager, Kamal Ajoboye, the brain behind the musician’s sophomore album, ‘The B.A.D.D.E.S.T’. released in 2015.

Details of the new deal were not made public, but the boss of the music label was Honorable Kings of New-school (HKN).
Davido, who is also a Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award winner, took to his social media pages to celebrate the deal.

Meanwhile, in celebration of his new deal, his colleagues, including Ice Prince, M.I, Phyno, Adekunle Gold, PatoranKing, and Sina Rambo (cousin), joined fans to congratulate him on different social media platforms.
The American-born musician has been nominated for 48 awards and has won 26 of those nominations.

He became popular in Nigeria after the release of his hit track Dami Duro in 2011.
