Davido: Ronaldo is my friend — but I have never met him

David Adeleke, a Nigerian singer better known as Davido, says he is friends with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo — despite having never met him.

Davido said he would love to collaborate on some level with the reigning world footballer of the year.

In an interview with Goal.com, the ‘Aye’ singer said he will try to come up with a way to work with the Portuguese national team captain.

“Yes, he is my friend. No, I have never met him,” he said.

“You know, he’s been busy. I am busy also. He’s got games.

“I think I will do a video with him but I wouldn’t say it’s going to be a music video, I’ll try and look for how both of our work can meet.”

Davido also talked about his friendship with Victor Moses and visiting his Chelsea teammates in their locker room.

“Yes, I went to a Chelsea game. That was amazing,” he said. “Victor Moses took me to the locker room and that was amazing.”

Commenting on the upcoming World Cup which is being held in Russia, Davido expressed optimism that the Super Eagles “can go all the way”.

He said: “That’s my country and I am behind my country 100% you know. I could say we’ll go all the way. Anybody could go all the way if they put their mind to it.

“Anything is possible. And we got [Alex] Iwobi, we got some strong men but it is a tough group.”
