Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, was voted both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the club’s annual awards ceremony.
Fans voted the Spanish goalkeeper as United’s Player of the Year, while his teammates voted him the Players’ Player of the Year for the club.
Ever the professional, De Gea was quick to thank his teammates while accepting the award from his fellow Spaniard, Juan Mata, on Thursday night.
“I’m really happy to win this honour,” said the goalkeeper.

“I’m very grateful. Sometimes it’s important for your teammates to give you confidence, and I think they’re some of the best teammates you can have.
“I tried to do my best this year and I think it was my best season so far. I felt really good and confident. I will try to do the same for next season.”
Striker Wayne Rooney bagged the Goal of the Year award for pushing the ball pass the goalkeeper from the halfway line during the club’s 2-0 win against West Ham United at Upton Park in March.
