The death toll in Wednesday attacks in Kano state has risen to 19, according to Sani Sidi, director-general of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Speaking at the Aminu Kano teaching hospital (AKTH) on Thursday, Sidi, who was represented by Charles Otegbede, the agency’s director of search and rescue operation, said the intervention of government agencies helped in reducing the causalities.
He spoke while presenting drugs and some relief materials to victims of the blasts carried out by teenage suicide bombers.
On his part, the chief medical director of the hospital commended NEMA for its timely intervention.

He promised that AKTH would give its best in ensuring that the injured were given adequate medical attention.
