Troy Deeney scored his 100th goal to square up for Watford in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday afternoon.
But for Deeney, Sam Allardyce would have secured his first victory for his new club.
A poor offside trap from Watford allowed Yohan Cabaye to break in behind, and latched on to a pass from Townsend before a finish into the bottom left corner for Crystal Palace in the 25th minute.
A sloppy play from Prodl, who laid a terrible back-pass to Gomes, but the Brazilian did not get there, and Benteke nipped in to toe the ball past the keeper.
