Akintola Williams, founder of Deloitte Nigeria, has clocked 101.
The doyen of accountancy in Nigeria turned 101 on Sunday, and his accounting firm took to Twitter to celebrate him.
Deloitte & Touche, formerly known as Akintola Williams Deloitte, is the oldest indigenous firm in Nigeria which was established in 1952 by Williams.
“Happy Birthday to our founder, Akintola Williams. We celebrate 101 years of impact,” the tweet read.

Aside from being the founder of Deloitte Nigeria, Williams is the first chartered accountant in Africa — he was 30 years old when he achieved that feat.
He is one of the founding fathers of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), as well as the founding member and first president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

He also provided services to state-owned organisations such as the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
Williams has also earned public honours and awards over the years within and outside Nigeria as testimony to the giant strides he has made in accountancy and towards Nigeria’s economic growth.
