The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday while construction workers were at the facility.
The complex is under construction in preparation for the 21st national sports festival (NSF), which will be hosted at the stadium.

Speaking on the incident, Charles Aniagwu, Delta commissioner for information, said nobody died during the incident and that only one person sustained minor injuries.
“The crane being used for this construction, the operator could not properly align the lift while he was trying to take up some heavy duty equipment,” he said.
“It fell on the wall and that led to a crash. Just one person sustained minor injury and he has since been treated. They have all returned to work.”
