Deremi Atanda, the managing director of Remita, has been officially inaugurated as a member of the Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR) Governing Council.

Announcing the development on Saturday, Remita, a payment platform, said Atanda’s recognition is a testament to his expertise and leadership within the technology industry.

Made up of professionals, the council governs the fintech association and supports its mission of fostering a thriving industry in Nigeria.

“We are delighted to announce that our Managing Director, DeRemi Atanda, has been inaugurated as an official member of the Fintech Governing Council (GovCo),” Remita said.

“This esteemed council plays a vital role in guiding the governance and strategic direction of FintechNGR.

“DeRemi’s recognition among industry leaders is a testament to his trailblazing leadership and immense expertise in the tech and payments space.”

Remita said through its operations, Atanda’s contributions have significantly advanced the growth of the fintech industry.

On August 5, the Fintech Association of Nigeria announced its newly elected officers for the 2024-2026 term.

The elected officers include Stanley Jacob, president of the association; Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun, vice-president; Tiwa Osazuwa, general secretary, and Oluwaseun Adesanya, treasurer.

Yinka Edu, Odun Eweniyi, Funmi Babington-Ashaye, and Yemi Keri were elected as returning governing council members, while Abiola Jimoh, Deremi Atanda, and Gbenga Padeda were elected as members.
