Abdulmumin Jibrin, a suspended member of the house of representatives, has empowered his constituents of Kiru/Bebeji in Kano state with start-up packages worth N100 million.
Jibrin has accused Yakubu Dogara, the speaker, and four other legislators of padding the 2016 budget with N40 billion.
In a statement on Wednesday, his media office said the empowerment programme was in commemoration of 100 days since he began his anti-corruption campaign in the lower chamber.
The statement said Jibrin gave scholarship grant for 1,000 students and distributed motorcycles, generators, sewing machines, grinding machines and other empowerment tools.

The gesture was aimed at cushioning the effect of economic hardship in the country, it said.
The former appropriations chairman explained that the welfare of his people was not a recent concern, adding that he had been in the business of empowerment long before he ventured into politics.

“I have done many empowerment program before I ventured into politics, I continued when I was elected and I sustain the tempo despite my suspension.”
“This is a clear testimony that we hold our people dear to our heart irrespective of politics,” Jibrin said.
He added that he would not relent in his struggle until sanity is restored in the budget process.
