Suspected hoodlums set ablaze thumbprinted ballot papers at at Ohafia street, Ago Palace way in Isolo local government area of Lagos state on Saturday.
A resident said after invading the polling unit, they carted away electoral materials and set them ablaze at a distant location.
The incident sparked tension, forcing some people who indicated interest in voting to leave the polling unit.
Not done with the act, the suspects reportedly proceeded to nearby voting stations to smash ballot boxes and chase away voters.

In a video posted on Twitter by one Shegun Adams, a woman was heard lamenting: “They just burnt our votes! They burnt our votes!”

Security operatives on ground could not stop the suspected thugs said to be working for one of the two leading parties. A witness said after disrupting the exercise, the thugs fled the area in buses and motorcycles.
There were also reports of violence in the Aguda part of Surulere, still in Lagos.
