Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is presently meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in his residence in Daura, Katsina.
Aminu Bello Masari, governor of Katsina, who is also present at the meeting, was among the delegation to receive Tinubu when he arrived in the state.
Tinubu’s Sallah visit to Daura comes amid a heightened expectation of the announcement of his running mate.

NAN had earlier reported that Tinubu would brief the president on his chosen running mate during the visit.
The former two-term Lagos state governor won the party’s ticket at the June 8 special national convention and presidential primary election.
Ibrahim Kabiru Masari was in June chosen as a placeholder for the vice-presidential candidate slot.

Masari on Sunday announced his resignation from the role, saying his decision will “enable Asiwaju to have more latitude to give more accommodation and inclusion that will position our party to win the coming elections”.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed July 15, 2022, as the last day for presidential and national assembly candidates to withdraw from the race in line with Section 31 of the Electoral Act 2022.
Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state, last week said Tinubu had settled for a Muslim-Muslim ticket — despite criticism from bodies like the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
There are reports that Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno state, is a favourite to be selected by Tinubu.
