Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, has disbursed N252 million to over 1,000 young entrepreneurs in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ibrahim Mohammed, Radda’s chief press secretary (CPS), said the funds were disbursed when the governor launched a youth empowerment initiative titled ‘Building your future youth development and empowerment’, in Katsina.
The CPS said the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to youth development.
“The energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of our youths are essential to the sustainable growth and prosperity of the state,” the statement quoted Radda to have said.

“The governor highlighted that this programme represents a strategic move to eliminate youth political thuggery in the state, promising continued support and potential recapitalisation for successful beneficiaries who demonstrate serious commitment to their businesses.”
Faruk Lawal, the Katsina deputy governor, said the initiative fulfils three key campaign promises: human capital development, empowerment support to the youths, and development projects.
Lawal urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity, not only to become self-employed but also to create jobs for others.
