Disability is a myth, says skiing amputee Vasu Sojitra

Despite the loss of his leg as a baby, Vasu Sojitra has gone on to become a professional skier.

Sojitra had to be amputated when he was nine month old due to a blood infection called septicemia, but that didn’t stop him from venturing into the dangerous sport of skiing.

Born to Indian parents, he is also an advocate for those who face mental and physical limitations.

“Disability is a myth,” he said. “I do what I love, and I’m going to keep doing it no matter what.”
